Discover why AI solutions in healthcare need extra safeguards alongside human collaborators.
The concept of “human in the loop” in AI involves integrating human judgment to oversee and validate AI outputs, especially in high-stakes fields like healthcare. While human intervention is a powerful, crucial guardrail, it’s also not enough. In this session, we’ll explore what it means to balance a human-centric approach to AI with technology guardrails that ensure the safe and accurate use of automation. We will demonstrate how the right AI system for healthcare can enable users to:
Leverage the value of large language models (LLMs) for information extraction without any of the risk
Put to rest any concerns of false or misleading information being presented as fact
Ensure the AI can understand, respond to, and navigate hundreds of questions and conversational turns
Avoid both creating and/or reinforcing discrimination in conversation
Shyam is a seasoned technology leader having led impactful projects across several technical areas. Prior to Infinitus, as a software architect, Shyam designed, built and launched highly secure, high throughput systems for Snap Inc and Google’s login and security platforms. Shyam previously led the engineering team as Director of Engineering at the mobile intelligence startup Quettra (acquired by Similar Web). Shyam started his career at MIPS and Nvidia, designing and building high performance CPUs.
As the lead on the machine learning team at Infinitus, Arushi’s team builds production AI solutions to improve efficiencies in the healthcare space. Prior to Infinitus, Arushi was at Cisco via the acquisition of MindMeld, where she was a tech lead on the conversational AI platform. Arushi holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science with an AI specialization from Stanford and has publications in leading conferences including EMNLP, ACL, and IEEE WCCI.
As the tech lead at Infinitus, Manas builds scalable backend systems to automate phone calls in the healthcare industry. Prior to Infinitus, he was a tech lead at Instacart where he built systems to manage order information and personalized user notifications, and at Twitch where he built the platform to power discovery of live streams. Manas earned his Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue University.
